The Iran Problem

Much as the Democrats want to stick their heads in the sand regarding threats to our country, they cannot ignore Iran's testing of long-range missiles, capable of hitting our ally in the region, Israel.  This, like the actions of North Korea, shows why President Bush was right when he declared the state part of the Axis of Evil.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad is crazy.  Even the most partisan Democrat would have trouble countering that.  And crazy people don't belong near nuclear weapons or missiles.  Iran says it will react militarily if the United States attacks their nuclear sites.  Let's call their bluff.  Those sites must be shut down immediately, which Israel is rumored to be preparing for.  We should offer Israel any aid they need.

This situation grows more serious by the hour.  Iran is demonstrating to a sleeping world that it has the capacity for monstrous actions, that it desires such actions, and that it believes the time has come for such actions.  The question is when they will acquire the dangerous and deadly weapons they so desperately seek.  Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama is visiting Israel this month.  Perhaps while visiting Iran's main target his eyes will be opened up to the dangers posed by the regime he wants to sit down and "talk" to.

This proves the immaturity and inexperience that will itself prove to be an enormous price should Senator Obama be elected President.  The Israelis are concerned about it, and we should be too.  Obama's stance on negotiating with men like Ahmadenijad is ridiculous, and the actions of Iran in testing these missiles only highlight that.  Barack Obama and the congressional Democrats, with a 9% approval rating (the lowest in history) cannot be trusted with our national security, whether the question is Iraq, Iran, or energy.  These people live in a world where you can talk to lunatics.

But as I've said before, you cannot have a rational discussion with irrational people.  It's like walking around and around in a revolving door.  If the Democrats think this is a viable policy, their heads aren't just buried in the sand--they're buried somewhere else.
